The Gateway Sports Academy is a collaborative project jointly developed by Excel Engineering and Rinka+, situated in the vibrant community of Saukville, Wisconsin. This facility is a key component of a comprehensive development plan for the area, which envisions the inclusion of hotels, restaurants, office spaces, residential apartments, and, notably, the sports academy itself. Trent and I worked closely in partnership with Rinka+ on designing the building’s exterior, combining our expertise to create a compelling and functional facade. Rinka+ took the lead on producing detailed renderings and managing the interior programming to ensure a cohesive and efficient layout. The academy is designed to offer a wide range of sports activities, including basketball, volleyball, pickleball, batting cages, and dedicated sports medicine areas, complemented by a stylish bar and lounge to enhance the community and social experience.
